What We Do

At Abbotsgate Investigations we combine the wealth of experience we have accumulated over many years with traditional methods of surveillance and the latest technology. We use digital photography, covert video and audio recording devices and satellite tracking equipment. Where necessary we can provide and advise on more visible methods of tracking and recording such as close circuit television equipment.

We are able to insert operatives under cover to operate, without suspicion, in a wide variety situations. Previous experience has shown us that on occasion it is impossible to either video or make audio recordings of individuals without becoming involved with those under investigation. These operatives can be used for single action operations, test purchases over a period of time or longer term infiltration. Whether to do with age, race, sex or disability, we are able to supply staff to match the operation.

For forensic computer examination we are able to mirror hard-drives immediately for examination off-site, thus leaving any suspect ignorant of the fact they are under suspicion. Evidence of wrong-doing can be gleaned from such a copy without the miscreant being aware, and we will usually be able to recover and re-write deleted files or view any internet activity, including any e-mails, that have been deleted. Evidence will be gathered in strict accordance with accepted rules of evidence, and presented in a form suitable for presentation to legal representatives. Many thefts and frauds are now carried out by use of the internet, and our IT experts have many years of recovering evidence.

Our surveillance teams are tailored to the clients' needs and budgets. A single individual may be able to carry out the required task but this can sometimes be a false economy. What may take a single observer five days to carry out may be done by a surveillance team in one day. We are mindful however that it is your money: ‘police follows’ may be abandoned after a couple of hours if the subject appears to be becoming suspicious, and then re-started the next day or following week. Often clients only have details of suspects movements for a narrow time period so there may only be a short windows of opportunity. Our vehicles include Mercedes, white vans, normal saloons and motor cycles….whatever is needed for differing circumstances.

Whatever method is used, the overriding principle is for discretion. Often, clients' fears may be unfounded and the revelations that they have had an employee, partner or family member followed can have the potential to cause serious repercussions. In other instances, where any client fears are confirmed, it may be that the client requires same methods to be used in future, so it is important not to reveal our modus operandi.
